Coorie Inn - October Newsletter

The leaves are turning, the fires are lit and there is a definite nip in the air here in Muthill. It's one of our favourite times of year at the Inn. With the festive season just around the corner, there is plenty to look forward to. Here's what we've been up to.

From the Kitchen

With colder and wetter days ahead, the kitchen has made some changes to the menu to reflect the season. Expect local game and warming, comforting flavours, best enjoyed by the fire in either the restaurant or the bar. There really is no better way to spend an autumn evening.

Welcome to the team

We are delighted to welcome Eddie Brown to the kitchen. Originally from Orkney, Eddie has spent the last three years at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie and joins us with a wealth of experience. We can't wait for you to taste what he brings to the pass.

Many of you will already know Robbie Brown, who has been part of the Coorie family for three years now. Robbie has levelled up from kitchen porter and joined Front of House, where he is filling his gap year, gaining some life experience and putting a few pennies behind him before heading off to university in September 2027. Do say hello next time you're in!

From the Hive

What a year it has been for our bees. We are thrilled to share that we have harvested an incredible 380kg of honey! We are just awaiting the arrival of our labels, and then our very own local honey will be available to buy through our web shop and here at the Inn on Willoughby Street. Watch this space.

The bees themselves have been treated for mites and are now being fed in readiness for winter. Ivy nectar and pollen is the last natural source of food for them until the snowdrops arrive early next year, so we're making sure they are well looked after through the colder months.

A Splash of Festive Sparkle

Christmas is fast approaching! The village Christmas tree switch-on takes place on Saturday 21st November, and with that in mind, Coorie Inn will be getting a splash of festive sparkle from the week commencing Monday 16th November.

As is tradition, we will be making mince pies and serving mulled wine for the whole village at the switch-on. If you're in the area, do stop by and join in. We would love to see you there

Dates for the Calendar

Christmas Eve: Start your Christmas celebrations in style with us. Space is very limited, so get in touch as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Bookings can be made via our website.

A Note on Our January Break

We will be closing for our January break from 1st January 2027 and reopening on Wednesday 3rd February 2027. After a busy festive season, the whole team will be taking a well-deserved rest, and we look forward to welcoming you back refreshed for the new year.

We hope to see you very soon.
